Past Event Information
Tuscarora Chapter is proud of it's past contribution to the ducks. We thank
the support of all the Contributors, Sponsors and all our members that have attended the
past functions for all their generosity.
Over the past 11 years this chapter has raised $361,242 in all the events.
Of this total a full 84% has been spent directly on projects in the field for
the ducks. Only 16% used for administrative costs. Congratulations
to all.
16th Annual Banquet 2007
Friday, August 3 rd, 2007
- We had an attendance of 153 for this event. Due in large part to our
generous underwriters our total cost was held to $4202.52. The gross
receipts were $21,297. This gave a Net Profit of $17,094.48 was sent
to Ducks Unlimited National. This made a very successful event. After
taking out the National DU costs the total proceeds for use in
conservation and restoration will be about $13,188.
- From this amount of money there will be about 53 acres preserved for the
future for all wildlife and people to enjoy forever.
- All dollars raised and sent into DU are leveraged with many other
partners for preservation of wetlands and the environment. DU is able to
turn our proceeds into two to three times the total dollar amount.

Tuscarora Chapter of Ducks Unlimited held it's 16th
annual membership banquet at Mifflintown Fire hall on Friday Aug 3rd.
2007. This years event included a catered meal, raffles, silent and live
auctions. Auctioneer Brian D. Imes who donates his time to many worthy
organizations contributed his services for the 14th consecutive year.
This annual membership banquet and thousands of similar events across
the country, set up by local committees, allows individuals, and businesses,
and corporations to donate money to Ducks Unlimited, an International
non profit conservation organization. This years committee is
especially grateful for the generosity of local individuals and
business. This years auction again featured the work
of Gerald Putt, the only 7 time winner of the Pennsylvania duck stamp
competition. Bob Jobes of Havre De Grace, MD. Mr. Jobes a 2nd
generation Decoy Carver and Maryland Waterman donated several nice
items for our auction and was available for information and
demonstration.

This is what it is all about!! For The
Ducks!! |
In the past 15 years the Tuscarora Chapter of DU has grossed
nearly 3/4 of a million dollars. 84% of the proceeds raised at our DU events goes directly into
projects. Ducks Unlimited works in conjunction with local, state, and
federal agencies where it matches or exceeds the funding in order to
put the money to use where it does the most good. In PA the stream bank
fencing project exemplifies the success of DU's partnership with state
organizations. Many local farmers participate in the Stream bank
fencing program of streams, reducing pollution and increasing
vegetation which provides the nesting grounds for ducks and other
wildlife. In another state project,. DU in cooperation with the PA
Game commission and the US Dept. of Fish and Wildlife completed
extensive improvements to the Middle Creek Wildlife Refuge.
The Tuscarora Chapter welcomes anyone who is interested in wildlife
conservation and ecology to attend one of our events or become a
committee volunteer. Anyone
interested in attending an event or becoming a committee member may
contact local Chairman Dave Duncan at 717-436-6363, email

Wing Nite

All You Can Eat - Wings and Beer
Every fall we hold our annual Wing Night. A fun night for
all and the price is right. $10.00 per person for all you can eat and
drink.
The food is good and the wings are
great.
Although this is a casual and fun night for the committee
as well as those that attend, the goal is still the same. We raise dollars
for wildlife conservation to be compounded through the efforts of the DU
folks. With an attendance of 120 to 150 individuals we still raise
and impressive amount of dollars to donate directly to DU.

200 pounds of wings
